Instructions

-
1
Fill out an application for title registration within your state. The form will ask for information on the primary owner and the individual that will be considered the title holder (usually the same person) and will ask for name, address, driver license number, business affiliation, VIN number and associated costs. There are also fees (varying by state) that are applicable to title registration.
-
2
Obtain vehicle verification to indicate that you have the vehicle in your possession. This can be down through a number of organizations including the DMV, the local police department, independent vehicle verifiers or through auto club employees. Contact the most convenient organization for you and have someone come out to see the vehicle to verify it.
-
3
Provide evidence of ownership for the vehicle. This can include a certificate of origin from the manufacturer, an original copy of the factory invoice from when the vehicle was purchased or or out-of-state title information if the title is being transferred from another state.
-
4
Bring all of the necessary information to the closest state DMV in which you reside and provide the department with the above information. Once all of the information has been approved and processed, the vehicle will be registered.
