1
Determine how high and steep you want the ramp to be. A good angle is 30 degrees. Measure two lengths of 2-by-4 to three feet. Mark and cut with the circular saw.
-
2
Measure and cut two sections of 2-by-4 to a length of one foot.
-
3
Connect the longer sections of 2-by-4s to the shorter connections. Lay the shorter section over the longer section to a 30-degree incline. Screw in three of the deck screws. Repeat this with the other two sections.
-
4
Measure the distance from the front edge of the short 2-by-4 to the end of the longer 2-by-4. Transfer that distance to two other two by fours and cut. Attach the new pieces to the opening left in the triangle. Make sure that the short 2-by-4's bottom edges are flush with the newly cut 2-by-4 and attach them with screws. Attach the 2-by-4 four to the angle's edge. Remove the overhanging parts with the circular saw.
-
5
Cut a piece of 2-by-4 to a width that you would like the ramp. Connect this to the top of the triangle with deck screws. Connect it to the other triangle. Place the frame on the ground and measure the width and length of the frame.
-
6
Cut a piece of plywood to the dimensions of the frame. Attach the plywood to the frame with the deck screws. Space the screws about four inches apart around the frame.
