How to Change RipStik Casters

Caster boards, which are similar to skateboards, have two narrow platforms connected by a metal beam with a strong spring. Each wheel on a caster board rotates just like the wheels of a shopping cart. The RipStik website says that the company's casters are "100% serviceable, in that the user can disassemble, clean and re-grease the loose-ball thrust bearing." When the wheels and casters of a RipStik board wear down, change them out for new ones available through RipStik's website or another sporting-goods retailer.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the board on a flat surface with the wheel-side up.

    • 2

Remove the bolts, nuts and washers from the old casters using the wrench that comes in the packaging of the new casters. Put the nuts somewhere safe for later use.

    • 3

Hold one new caster in the center of the assembly, lining the center holes with the holes from which you removed the nuts from the old wheel.

    • 4

Place the washer on the side of the hole and push the bolt through the washer and the wheel holes to the other side of the assembly. Put the other washer on the bolt and the nut on top of the washer and tighten with the wrench.

    • 5

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the other caster. Twirl the wheels to ensure that they spin freely.
