1
Place your skateboard deck, wheels detached, upside down on a flat surface.
-
2
Lift one end of the deck, and feed four truck bolts through the four holes there. Lower the skateboard back onto the surface so that the four bolts stick up through the bottom of the board.
-
3
Install one of your risers onto the four bolts so that it sits flush on the bottom of the board with approximately 1/2 inch (about 1.3 cm) of the bolts still exposed.
-
4
Place one set of trucks onto the riser. The holes on the trucks should align with the four bolts already pointing upwards.
-
5
Hand-tighten four nuts down onto the four bolts. Turn your skateboard onto its side and finish tightening the nuts by holding each bolt in place with a screwdriver while tightening the corresponding nut with the skateboard tool.
-
6
Place your board back down on the table, and repeat the truck installation process on the other end of the board. It is usually much easier to do only one side at a time.
