What Is the Difference Between Mid & Low Trucks?
-
Mid Trucks
-
Mid trucks are better for cruising than the low trucks. Mid trucks give the skateboard more speed and roll distance. Mid trucks are also more adaptable to unstable terrain, which is why some skaters use them, or high trucks, when skateboarding on a ramp.
Low Trucks
-
Low trucks are also favored among skateboarders, mainly due to the tricks they can perform. Low trucks are much more stable than the other kinds, which allows the board to do faster flip tricks. Low trucks often have smaller wheels.
Considerations
-
For those using skateboards for more practical purposes, mid trucks are better than low trucks. They are also more appropriate for ramps. However, if you want to learn some of the popular tricks skateboarders do off of ramps, low trucks are better.
