Skateboard Parks in Nova Scotia

Located on the southeastern coast of Canada, Nova Scotia is the country's largest Atlantic province. Recreational activities and sports of all kinds are popular in the province, and skateboarding is gaining popularity each year. To accommodate the province's skateboarding youth, many Nova Scotia cities have built community skate parks, varying in operating hours, surface type and available skill courses.
  1. Chester Skatepark

    • Operated by the district of Chester Recreation & Parks Department, the Chester Skatepark has been a popular venue for skaters since 2003. The park is a large, permanent, concrete facility featuring street obstacles. The skate park was designed for street and bowl skaters. The park is unsupervised and regulations stipulate that helmets must be worn at all times. Chester Skatepark regularly holds skateboarding contests for not only local Halifax skaters, but also other regional skaters.     Halifax Commons Skatepark

    • Located in downtown Halifax, the Halifax Commons Skatepark is the largest skate park in Nova Scotia. The park is a permanent, concrete skate park, which features various courses and trick obstacles, in addition to deep bowl runs. The location of the skate park near to Citadel Hill makes it a popular park for skaters, bmx bikers and rollerbladers, who may all use the skate park facilities. On the park commons, you will find bathroom facilities, and the park is within walking distance to several local restaurants. The park is open during daylight hours and helmets are mandatory.

    Island Skatepark

    • Designed by Jim Barnum, the Island Skatepark is a 12,000-square-foot permanent, concrete skate park in Coxheath, Nova Scotia. The skate park features street obstacles and deep bowls for various types of skateboarding, bmx biking and rollerblading. The park is open from dawn until dusk and helmets are mandatory.
