How to Do a Laser Flip on a Skateboard

If you're familiar with the heel-flip, and you've done your homework on varial flips, then you're ready to step up your game to the laser flip. A combination of the 360 varial and the heel-flip, the laser-flip is a very difficult trick to learn; however, with the proper technique and the right amount of determination, you too can master this expert-level maneuver.

Place the ball of your back foot in the pocket of the tail, meaning the small crevice formed where the tail curves into the flat part of the deck.

    • 2

Plant your front foot in a heel-flip position. Orient your foot at a slight angle so that just your big toe hangs off the board.

    • 3

Pop the board much like a front-side shove it, while simultaneously sliding your front foot out forward so your heel just barely catches the nose.

    • 4

Watch the skateboard perform a laser flip. As the board completes the rotation, plant your feet onto the bolts, land it, then ride away clean.
