How to Troubleshoot a ProForm Heart Rate Monitor Stuck on 60

If your ProForm heart rate monitor displays a static number such as zero or 60, then the device's sensors are failing to register a reading. Sensor failure can occur if the device is improperly positioned on your body. Certain environmental conditions, such as excessive dryness or magnetic fields, also interfere with the ProForm heart monitor's functions.

Instructions

    • 1

Verify that the heart rate monitor is located in the proper position on your body. Place the monitor against your skin and secure it as high as possible against your left pectoral muscle.

    • 2

Verify that the monitor is aligned properly. Align your heart rate monitor so that the logo on the sensor is facing away from you and is right side up.

    • 3

Wet the two electrodes that are located on the heart rate sensor unit using a drop of saline solution. If you work out in a dry environment, the electrodes may become too dry to return a heart rate measurement.

    • 4

Exercise in a different location that has less potential for electrical interference. The Proform heart rate monitor can experience magnetic interference caused by high voltage power lines or nearby electronic equipment. This interference can cause your monitor to output inaccurate readings or to not work at all.
