How to Use a Marcy Inversion Chair

The Marcy Inversion chair is designed to help exercise, strengthen and tone the abdominal and back muscles. Sold online and in select home retail and fitness supply stores, the inversion chair is only meant for use by one person at a time. Note that it is important to use the seat belt and lock the feet into the foot straps before using the machine. It is fairly simple for most adults to operate and use the Marcy Inversion Chair, but its use should be discontinued if dizziness, nausea or discomfort occurs.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the height adjustment to your height and the angle to the desired tilt angle. This can be set between 15 and 60 degrees, although new users should start with 15 degrees.

    • 2

Step onto the foot base of the inversion chair and close the foot straps securely around the ankles.

    • 3

Straighten up and tighten the seat belt around the midsection. It should be secure but not too tight.

    • 4

Release the hand brake and slowly begin to lean back. Hold the handles or place your hands behind your head with your fingertips touching.

    • 5

Wait for the inversion chair to stop at the set angle. Wait one to five minutes and then grab the handles. Pull on the handles or perform a crunch to begin to pull back up. Move slowly to avoid dizziness.

    • 6

Wait a minute after the chair returns to the upright position before removing the seat belt and foot straps to allow time for the body to readjust.
