How to Make Clubbells

A clubbell is a device used in fitness. It is used to generally build and enhance muscles as well as to train for sports such as golf, tennis and squash that require participants to swing their arms repetitively. These items can be quite expensive, ranging between $100 and $200 each. However, they may also be made quite cheaply using a few household supplies.

Instructions

    • 1

Take one of your T-ball bats and your drill. Plug in the drill and carefully drill a hole into the handle end of the bat. The hole should be big enough so the narrow part of the funnel can fit inside, but small enough so the plug fits firmly inside.

    • 2

Take the bat with the hole drilled into it and stand it up. Lean it against something so you can work with both of your hands. If possible, ask a friend to hold it steady for you.

    • 3

Fill a glass jar with sand. Take your funnel and place the narrow end inside the hole. Holding the funnel with one hand, pick up the sand-filled jar with your other hand and begin pouring sand into the bat through the funnel.

Continue adding sand until the bat has reached the desired weight. Clubbells range in their weights: Some are 5 lbs. and others are 45 lbs. It all depends on how much weight you can handle at a given time. When it has reached the desired weight, inset the plug into the hole you drilled.

Repeat steps 1 through 4 to make a second clubbell. Continue repeating until you have the desired number of clubbells. If you have never used a clubbell before, it is best to err on the side of caution and use less weight. Due to the intense swinging motions typically performed during clubbell workouts, it is easy to cause damage to your muscles.
