1
Develop a diet that includes a high amount of protein and carbohydrates. Protein helps to build muscle and strength; carbohydrates give you energy to work out.
-
2
Design a training schedule. For men who need to lose weight and get stronger, balance weight training with cardio. For men who just need to get stronger, incorporate more weight training.
-
3
Include squats, dead lifts, bench presses, and overhead presses. Do only four to six repetitions per set of exercises.
-
4
Keep challenging the lifter by adding more weight each week. He will get stronger without hitting a plateau.
-
5
Make him work out five to six times a week. Continue until you and he are satisfied with his gains in strength.
