The National Kickboxing Calgary Northwest in Ranchview Drive NW and the National Kickboxing Calgary Downtown in Street SE are affiliate clubs of the National Kickboxing Edmonton, where you can sign up as a novice or to improve your kickboxing skills.

Kickboxing is a cardiovascular fitness exercise that uses martial art movements. Fitness classes often consist of a warm-up, a series of kickboxing technique routines and a cool down and stretch period at the end of each session. Movements include side and front kicks, back kicks as well as boxing moves of jabs, hooks and uppercuts.

You can take kickboxing classes from the City of Calgary Recreation. As of May 2010, classes are offered for all age and ability levels in 12 recreational facilities in the city including at Village Square Leisure Center and various Aquatic and Fitness Centers in the area.

The National Kickboxing Edmonton charges an initiation fee of $99 and training dues of $66.65 per month. Prices are based on 2010 rates, and the currency is Canadian dollar.
