1
Measure your stride length by marking a line at the front of your toes while standing still. You may use a piece of chalk or a stick to mark your place (we will call this distance “A”). Take 10 normal steps forward and mark in front of your toes where you stopped (we will call this distance “B”). If you are using the pedometer to run, then run 10 strides from distance "A" to distance "B" instead of taking normal steps.
-
2
Calculate the distance of each stride by measuring from distance “A” to distance “B” and dividing that number by 10. The result is the length of your stride.
-
3
Change the “Step” mode on the display to either kilometers or miles by pressing the “Mode” button on the device. Once you have selected which preference you would like, press and hold the “Set” button down until the display flashes and the setting stays on the screen. Once you press “Set,” the device will return to the main screen once it has finished saving.
-
4
Press the “Mode” button until it shows which mode you selected, either kilometers or miles. Press the “Mode” button until it asks for “Stride Distance” and press “Set.” Enter your stride distance by pressing “Mode” repeatedly until you reach the appropriate number. Press “Set” to save the correct number. The device will return to the main screen once it has finished saving.
-
5
Press the “Mode” button until it shows “Weight” and press “Set.” Enter your weight by pressing the “Mode” button until you have entered your weight and press “Set” to save your weight into the device. The device will return to the main screen once it has finished saving.
-
6
Press the “Reset” button once you are ready to use the pedometer. Clip the pedometer onto your pants off to the side so that your arms do not hit it while it is in use. Make sure the device is on straight and you may begin your workout.
