Under the instruction of Shifu Mario Salazar, students in Tampa can learn traditional Shaolin wushu, tai chi, qigong and sanda. Shifu Salazar is a 32nd generation inheritor of the Shaolin wushu lineage and a former member of the US Sanda Team. Foregoing the contemporary western "belt" system, the Mt. Song Martial Arts Academy prefers to encourage individuality and lifelong learning. Classes run Monday through Saturday.

Tampa Kung Fu teaches the praying mantis branch of Shaolin kung fu and tai chi. The head instructor is Shifu Kevin Brazier, who studied under Shifu Shi at Confucius Temple in Tianan, Taiwan. The school curriculum includes fist styles of Little Four Hands, Shaolin 18 Hands and 8 Steps Interconnected Punches. It conduct classes Monday through Saturday, with separate classes for adults and children.

The Wah Lum School of Kung Fu and Tai Chi

Wah Lum School of Kung Fu specializes in Jut Sow, Praying Mantis and Tam Tui styles of kung fu, which are a part of the Wah Lum wushu system. In addition to wushu fist forms, the school also teaches tai chi and a broad range of weapons forms such as spear, double butterfly knives, rope dart, double hook swords and monk’s spade. Students can choose to learn the traditional Chinese lion dance in addition to their wushu studies. Adult classes run Monday through Saturday, and classes for children are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
