      Lift your knee while rolling your shoulder back. Keep your elbows close. If you're punching with your right hand, then the right leg should be lifting. The leg movement is intended to distract your opponent.

      Kick your leg back while punching forward. Practice your balance and the proper motion by balancing on the left leg (if you're punching right-handed) and bringing your right leg and arm in and out. Once you have the movement down, you can try and get some air.

      Jump forward off your left leg when you punch and kick backward. This leaping motion assists in providing extra momentum into your punch.
