Tai Shin Doh Techniques
-
Throws
-
Tai shin doh is fundamentally similar to traditional Japanese jujitsu. This style was never intended to be a sport style and relies on side and over-the-head throws that are designed to cause serious damage to your opponent.
Pressure Points
-
The practice of being aware of and attacking pressure points is another aspect of tai shin doh that is derived from traditional jujitsu. Striking vulnerable pressure points on an opponent's body allows you to weak, injure or overpower him, often with minimal effort.
Savate Kicks and Footwork
-
Savate is a French martial art that is so lauded in martial arts circles for its fast kicks and footwork that even Bruce Lee lifted some of it when developing his own martial art. Tai shin doh also makes use of savate's fast footwork and springing kicks that are delivered by skipping the back foot forward to take the place of the front foot as it is launched into a kick.
Aikido Flips
-
Tai shin doh also makes use of aikido flips and throws. These are exceptionally effective when used to turn the intensity of an assailant's attack against him. They form another integral part of tai shin doh.
