How to Clean Zebra Mats

These cleaners not only clean dirt and grime from the mats, they also kill bacteria that pose health risks to the athletes, such as the "superbug" Staphylococcus Aureus, also known as MRSA.

Things You'll Need

  • Mild detergent or degreaser
  • Warm water
  • Bucket
  • Mop or rag
  • Brush
  • Hose

Instructions

      Mix a small amount of the mild detergent or degreaser with warm water in a bucket. Refer to the product label for mixing ratios.

      Dip a mop or rag into the bucket. Wring out excess water from the mop or rag. Apply it to the Zebra Mats and scrub them thoroughly to remove dirt and bacteria. Make sure not to saturate the mats with excess water because water could pool or collect in creases between mats and cause damage to the mats, or possibly mold, over time.

      Scrub the mats at least annually with a scrub brush for a deep cleaning. Rinse the mats with clean, warm water and a clean rag or by hosing them off after a deep cleaning. Allow mats to dry completely before using them.
