1
Use a tire pressure gauge to check the air pressure on the tires of your Jayco trailer. An improperly inflated tire can result in a blowout, or cause poor tire wear. If your trailer has a spare tire, check the air pressure in that as well. Inspect the lug nuts that secure the tires to the axles and tighten any if needed.

2
Insert the crank handle and raise the canvas camper top of your Jayco trailer. Raise it slowly and listen for any squeaking or grinding noises. Inspect the cables where visible and apply a small amount of fine grade oil to visible pulleys and the cranking system.

3
Open the valve on the propane gas tanks and turn on the stove and light the burners to ensure they are working correctly. If they do not light or one is burning hotter than the other, close the valve on the tank and allow the stove to burn off the gas in the line. Allow the burners to cool then remove and clean them before leaving on your trip.

4
Test the electrical system as well as the propane gas alarm to ensure all are working correctly. If the electrical system is not working, inspect the breaker panel on your trailer and reset any breakers that have tripped. Test the propane gas alarm. If it does not work, replace the battery and try again. If it still does not work, replace the alarm and do not use any of the gas appliances inside the trailer until it is replaced.

5
Inspect the fresh water system and add a sanitizer to prevent odors or bacteria growth in your tanks. If this is the first time using the camper for the season, replace the water filter cartridge.
