Streamlight Sl20 Specifications

Flashlights come in hundreds of sizes and shapes. They range in price from less than a dollar to more than $150. The Streamlight SL-20 retails near the top of that price range, but it is widely discounted. It is a lightweight professional-grade tool used by many law enforcement personnel. Unlike cheap flashlights, it has replaceable parts and rechargeable batteries.
  1. More Light

    • Within the SL-20 family, there are various options that affect the light output. It is available with an 8-or 10-watt halogen lamp, a halogen lamp with Light Emitting Diode backup illumination or incandescent bulb. Depending on the configuration, the unit will project up to 38,000 candela over 300 feet. This is comparable to having a car headlight on a stick, with a more focused beam.

    Batteries

    • The Streamlight SL-20 series uses a sealed unit nickel-cadmium battery stick that is equivalent to five C-cells. They are rechargeable up to 1,000 times. As with any Ni-Cad battery, they must be discharged fully to avoid memory and capacity problems as they age. The included multifunction switch is designed to save power and is warrantied for life.

    Tough Construction

    • The light is made from a nylon polymer that is designed to withstand the abuse common to the law enforcement and public safety professions. It has a non-slip foam comfort grip and is available in high visibility yellow and orange as well as non-glare black. The case is sealed with O-rings to make it water resistant. At 13 inches long and 1 1/2 inches diameter, the SL-20 weighs one pound.

    Accessories

    • The SL-20 is a flexible lighting system. Many accessories are available to enhance the functionality of the light. Safety wands in high visibility colors are available for directing traffic. Extra battery sticks and bulk chargers are available as well as chargers for both office car and home. Holsters, holders and lamp modules are designed to make its use more convenient.
