How Do I Know If My Streamlight Sl-20Xp Battery Is No Good?

The Streamlight SL-20XP flashlight uses halogen and LED bulbs to give to varying levels of light output. According to Streamlight, the rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries provide 1.5 hours or run time for the halogen bulb and 11.5 hours when set to the LEDs. As the batteries charge depletes, the lights reduce in lumens (quality and brightness.) If your batteries do not generate enough time, your batteries may need replacements.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the Streamlight SL-20XP halogen lights on and let it stand in the on position until the batteries run out completely. When the light is out, the battery charge is depleted.

    • 2

Plug the batteries into the charger and give them a full charge. Watch for a green light on the charger indicating the batteries have a full charge.

    • 3

Put the batteries back into the flashlight and turn the halogen setting on. Keep the light with you as you go about other tasks, taking time every few minutes to look over and check the light quality. If the light goes out within 30 minutes, the batteries are no longer holding a full and accurate charge and are ready for replacement.
