How to Change a Holding Tank in Pace Arrow

The Pace Arrow class A recreational vehicle is made by Fleetwood. A set of holding tanks for water use and containment come with the RV. Fresh water tanks hold the drinking and cooking water, grey water tanks hold waste water from sinks and black water tanks hold waste water from toilets. Change a holding tank on a Pace Arrow through the tank panel housing found on the outside of the RV.

Instructions

    • 1

Park the Pace Arrow, put the emergency brake on and turn off the engine and all electric systems. Open the drain valve on the tank in need of changing.

    • 2

Find the drain valve on the tank. The tank housing is on the right rear side of the rig. If you are changing a grey or black water tank, drain them at certified dumping stations, typically found at rest stops and campgrounds.

    • 3

Unscrew the hose clamps connecting the tank to the RV's plumbing lines. Grip the hose with the wrench and turn slightly while applying pressure to pull the hose off the tank.

    • 4

Remove the old tank. Place the new holding tank in the housing. If new seals are on the tank, pull them off to prep it for use in the Pace Arrow. These are plastic tabs on the intake or outflow nozzles.

    • 5

Remove the old hose clamps, 1-inch in size, from the hose leading to the RV systems. Slide the two new 1-inch hose clamps on the hose.

    • 6

Push the hose down onto the new tanks intake nozzle. Slide the hose clamp over the hose where it covers the nozzle and tighten as tight as possible. Caulk around the bottom of the hose and nozzle to give a watertight seal.
