How to Make a Blow Dart Gun Out of Paper

A blowgun is a silent and effective weapon that is powered by the air from your breath. You can make a blowgun and a dart to fire out of it from pieces of paper that will work as effectively as any bought from a hunting store. You will also need a few common household items. Your paper blow dart gun will only take a few minutes to make. Adult supervision is necessary if the one making the paper blow dart gun is a child since a pair of scissors must be used.

  • Transparent tape
  • 2 sheets paper, 8 inches by 10 inches

      Place one of the two sheets of paper on a table with the long side facing you.

      Roll the lower right corner of the sheet of paper over to the upper left corner to form a tube.

      Tape the sides of the tube at the top, middle and bottom with pieces of transparent tape.

      Measure 2 inches from one end of the paper tube. Mark this measurement. Cut the paper tube at the 2-inch mark with the scissors. Repeat this procedure at the other end of the paper tube.

      Cut the other sheet of paper in half with the scissors. Cut in half each of the two sections of paper made by the previous cut.

      Place one of the cut sheets of paper on the table with the short end facing you. Roll the left side of the cut sheet of paper over to the right side to form a tube.

      Tape the sides at the top, middle and bottom with transparent tape. Crumple one end of the tube with your fingers.

      Insert the non-crumpled end of the tube into one end of the first paper tube.

      Hold the other end of the first paper tube up to your mouth. Aim at a far wall. Exhale in a short burst to fire the "dart" from the paper dart gun you have made.
