1
Cut plywood to the size you want your dart board. Since you're making it for your own fun, it can be any size you like. Traditional dart boards are 18 inches in diameter.
-
2
Cover your board with a thick layer of cork. The cork should be thick enough for the darts to stick when you throw them, rather than bounce off.
-
3
Mark out the various points on your dart board. You can mimic a traditional dart board or you make something totally unique. Consider making squares positioned in numerical order, rectangles that mimic playing cards, or areas for the letters of the alphabet.
-
4
Paint the sections of your dart game with latex paint. To make the fine lines and details, use a paint pen and a ruler.
-
5
Make up the rules for your dart game. You can play hangman using the alphabet or poker with cards. Of course, you can play to a high score using traditional numbers as well.
-
6
Blow up balloons and pin them to the cork board. Assign a score for each color and let the kids play darts.
