1
Unscrew the handle and pull off the washer stack. Set each part removed onto a white towel, in the order of removal. This helps when reassembling the Curado reel. This stack includes the nut plate screw, nut plate, handle nut and star drag.
-
2
Unscrew the right-side housing screws and pull off the housing plates. Unscrew the interior left plate and multipurpose screw. With the tip of the screwdriver, push the thumb rest forward, taking care not to bend the fragile metal.
-
3
Pull the right- and left-side assembly plates off to gain full access to the inner mechanisms and bushings on the Curado.
-
4
Remove the bushings and coat them in the bushing grease. Remove the roller clutch -- the small bar where the spool fits over. Grease the clutch with the bushing grease.
-
5
Take off the entire gear cluster, clean it off and rebuild the entire gear cluster stack. Add grease to the teeth.
-
6
Begin the rebuild of the removed parts and add a dollop of grease to each part as you put it back on the reel.
-
7
Add the handle and drag star last. Do not grease the drag star.
