How to Use the Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker
Instructions

-
1
Set the sharpening rods into the proper holes on the base of the kit. This holds the rods at the proper angle for a blade.
-
2
Hold a knife vertically and set the left side of the blade nearest the handle against the top to the smooth rod facing to the left. Pull it downward and toward you with a smooth motion. Repeat this several times.
-
3
Move to the other rod facing to the right and repeat the same motion several times, except with the right side of the blade against the rod. This will put a sharp edge back onto the blade.
-
4
Slide the point of a fishhook down into the furrow between the rods to sharpen the point. Use a smooth, even motion and run the hook from the top of the rod to the bottom.
-
5
Replace the smooth rods with the triangular ones. Holding the bread knife in the same, vertical position as the other knife, run each serration on the bread knife or other serrated knife directly down the rods on both the left side and the right side rods until the knife is again sharp.
