1
Pinch the two wires on a clip swivel to free the clip. Hook the clip on the loop of a 2 oz. ball weight.
-
2
Tie the end of the line on a spare reel to the loop on the ball sinker with a clinch knot. Push the line through the sinker loop to create two divided sections of line. Wrap the end section around the main stem seven times. Feed the end through the loop at the base of the wraps and pull the knot tight.

3
Hook the swivel clip on the line when the lure is snagged. Adjust your position until the rod tip is over the snagged lure. The position is designed to increase the speed and effectiveness of the knocker.

4
Open the bail on the reel and drop the weight until it hits the lure. Attempt to retrieve the lure. Reel the weight up the line and repeat until the lure is freed from the snag.
