1
Wrap one end of the stainless steel forming wire around one of the tips of the round-nose pliers to create a small loop. Leave a half-inch worth of wire to create a tail on the loop end of the wire.
-
2
Wrap the tail wire around the straight section of forming wire twice. This loop is the section of the lure that connects to a swivel and fishing line.
-
3
Add a hollow bead onto the forming wire, and push it against the loop.
-
4
Slip the spinner onto the clevis piece. The clevis holds the spinner on the wire and allows it to move freely in the water.
-
5
String the clevis onto the forming wire with the convex side, or the bowed-out side, of the spinner facing away from the forming wire.
-
6
Slide on one to three additional hollow beads onto the forming wire. The beads before and after the clevis prevent the clevis and spinner from binding with the rest of the lure.
-
7
Bend another loop approximately 1 inch from the last bead with the round-nose pliers. This will leave a wire tail. Do not wrap the wire to close the loop completely.
-
8
Slip a treble hook onto the loop created in Step 7.
-
9
Wrap the tail of the forming wire around the straight section of the forming wire. This will close the loop completely and hold the hook of the lure in place.
