How to Replace Humminbird RF 10 Transducer

The Humminbird SmartCast RF 10 is a portable SONAR unit that uses a wireless transducer. You use the RF 10 by attaching the transducer to the end of the line on a fishing rod and casting it out over the water you want to scan. There are two transducer models. The RF40A uses channel A, and the RF40B uses channel B. You can use both models at the same time for more coverage, but you must keep them at least 40 feet apart to avoid interference.

Instructions

    • 1

Contact the manufacturer at 334-687-0503 to purchase a replacement transducer. You can also purchase used transducers through online auction sites or fellow fishing enthusiasts.

    • 2

Hold down the "Power-Menu" button on the receiver until the Channel menu comes up on the screen.

    • 3

Press the directional buttons to select channel A or B. The Channel menu will disappear after a few seconds. Once the receiver is tuned to the correct channel, it will pick up signal from any nearby transducer transmitting on that channel.

    • 4

Tie a snap swivel to the end of the line and clip the snap through the hole on the keel at the pointed end of the transducer.
