1
Locate a flat and level surface for adjusting the walking poles. Choose an indoor location with a hard surface such as concrete or wood flooring. Use an outdoor location with a concrete or asphalt surface.
-
2
Hold one of the walking poles so that the sections are easily accessible. Familiarize yourself with the components of the pole including the three sections and the locking adjustment points.
-
3
Turn the pole sections to the left to loosen. Pull both sections out to extend the pole completely. Note the markings on the pole sections and do not overextend either section as this can cause damage to the pole. Do not tighten the pole at this point.
-
4
Stand straight with feet placed shoulder-width apart. Turn the pole upright, raise your arm slightly and place the top of the grip under your arm.
-
5
Push down on the pole so that the top of the grip is 3 to 5 inches below the armpit. Turn the sections of the pole to the right to securely lock them in place. Note the position of the pole sections and adjust the second pole to match.
