How to Measure Hip Belt Size for Backpacks

Choosing a backpack for hiking includes the capacity you will need for a trip as well as your hip belt size and torso measurement for the best fit. The majority of weight in a backpack rests just above your hip bones where your body bears your weight naturally. Sizing the hip belt correctly allows you to balance the load and weight of your items that you carry for ease in climbing and helps you maintain your balance. You will need assistance to obtain correct measurements.
