1
Locate a spot on your wall where the mirror will hang. If the mirror is very heavy, use a stud finder to locate the studs in the wall. The stud provides more support than wallboard alone. Stud finders can be purchased at a hardware store.

2
Mark the exact spot on the wall with a pencil where the nail/picture hook will go. When you nail the hook into the wall, this mark will serve as a guide. Be sure to make it dark enough so that it's visible and easy to find.

3
Choose a picture hook based on the size and weight of your mirror. If you're worried about the hook not being strong enough, it's go with a larger hook. It's better to overestimate than underestimate in this case. You can also space two hooks approximately one foot apart for added support of heavier mirrors.

4
Hammer a picture hook and nail into the wall on the spot that you marked. While picture hooks come in many forms, most are attached to the wall by sticking the nail through the proper hole in the hook and then pounding the nail into the wall while attached to the hook. Be sure to use a nail with a head that is larger than the hole so the picture hook does not become detached from the nail. Picture hooks can be purchased at hardware stores and usually include the proper nail to hang.

5
Check the back of your mirror to make sure it includes a hanging wire. If not, install one by screwing an eye hook on either side of the frame and threading the wire through.

6
Hang the mirror on the hooks and adjust it so it's even. Step back to look at the mirror and take note of which direction the mirror is tilting. Adjust by gripping the sides of the mirror and lightly tilting in the opposite direction until it appears even. This may take several attempts.
