1
Unload the weapon completely. Visually inspect the weapon to ensure no ammunition is present.
-
2
Disassemble your weapon's floating forearm. Consult your owner's manual -- or forearm installation manual -- for specific instructions that apply to your weapon.
-
3
Secure the forearm to a table with a C-clamp, or place it in a padded bench vise. Ensure that the outer surface of the forearm is facing toward you..
-
4
Place the Picatinny rail on the forearm in your desired position. Mark the rail's guide-holes on the forearm using a marker.
-
5
Drill the guide holes in the forearm using a drill bit slightly smaller than the diameter of the rail's mounting screws.
-
6
Tap the guide holes with a tapping tool to fit the threads of the rail's mounting screws. Work the tap slowly back and forth to ensure proper thread structure.
-
7
Set the rail on the forearm. Line up the holes you just drilled and tapped with the holes on the rail. Insert the screws, and secure the forearm interior with the provided nuts and washers.
