How do I Mount an M4 Pressure Switch?

The Colt M4 entered into US military service use in 1994. Using a firearm during combat, or even hunting, it is beneficial to have quick control over its options. When operating the M4 at night, a flashlight can be mounted on the bottom of its barrel to provide a line of sight to the target. Controlling the on/off mechanism on the flashlight is enhanced by the installation of a pressure switch on its grip.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the back of the flashlight's battery case by turning it counterclockwise.

    • 2

Fasten the pressure sensor's cap onto the back of the flashlight's battery slot by screwing it on clockwise.

    • 3

Route the pressure sensor's wire along the rifle towards the grip. Be careful not to run the wire in a way that impedes the operation of the gun.

    • 4

Pull the film off that protects the adhesive on the pressure switch's hook and loop tape. Push the switch onto the grip in a position that is comfortable to operate while holding the M4.

    • 5

Activate the flashlight's main power switch so it is in the "On" position. Push the pressure switch, with your hand, to active the flashlight.
