How to Rig a Muzzy Predator Arrow Shaft

The Muzzy Predator arrow is made for rough bow fishing for large species such as alligator or large gar and catfish. The arrow is an aluminum shaft with a brass 5/16-inch collar. This allows the use of 5/16-inch tips for hunting your preferred species. It is important to use the proper retrieval fishing line and have it run down the cable guides on the shaft of the arrow. If not placed through these guides, the arrow might snap back and cause injury to the hunter.

Instructions

    • 1

Select your tip. For example, if you are hunting alligator, go with a large brass tip with one-way retractable side tines. Use a smaller version of the tined tips for catfish or fish.

    • 2

Screw the tip to the brass collar and threaded receiver at the top of the arrow. Turn until fully tight.

    • 3

Clip the retrieval cord and cable to the small mounting fid on the side of the arrow collar. Pull it so the mount and cable face all the way down the length of the shaft.

    • 4

Tie the end of the cable to the spool of fishing line on the fishing bow. Use a Surgeon's knot to attach the cable and line together.
