How to Use a BPE Fletching Jig

A fletching jig is used to hold an arrow shaft still while applying fletching to the shaft at specific angles. The BPE Pro Series fletching jig is used to apply any type of fletching to arrow shaft sizes of 14/64-inch up to 25/64-inch diameters. This device features numbered slots for convenience, as well as hardened indexing contact points without the use of ball bearings or moveable discs. Using a BPE fletching jig can be accomplished with little difficulty.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the jig base on a workbench in your preferred location. Fit the jig legs into the slots on the base.

    • 2

Set the jig to the needed arrow shaft slot size and fletching angle by rotating the index knob. The slot sizes are numbered according to arrow shaft diameter and fletching angle in increments of 5 degrees with each click.

    • 3

Slide the arrow shaft rear into the shaft slot. Slide the needed fletching clamp over the arrow shaft onto the jig plate. Note that the fletching clamp is magnetic. The type of fletching that you're applying -- whether helical or straight -- will dictate what clamp to use.
