1
Check the Hoyt Stealthshot String Suppressor for tension. This is the black rubber coil and rod that attaches to the three strings and reduces vibration and noise upon release of the arrow. The Stealthshot Suppressor rests on the third string in to the shaft. It must be loose enough to allow all three strings independent movement. If too loose, tighten the screw on the underside of the device. If too tight, turn the screw counter clockwise.

2
Lubricate Hoyt bows that use conventional bearings or bushings at the wheel with a dry graphite lubricant (this includes AccuWheel Hoyt equipped bows). Apply a dollop to the bushings and pull the string back several times to work it into the mechanism. Do not dry fire the bow after working the string back.

3
Inspect the bow string for broken threads or arrow nocks (the small raised section of the string where the arrow is placed for firing). If any broken or compromised threads are on the string, cut it off and remove the old string. Thread a new string on to the shaft nocks (the canals where the string is housed on the ends) and send the string through the bow press to align and install the new string onto the cams and bow.

4
Apply a light coating of the bowstring wax after each field hunt with the bow. Bowstring wax preserves the string and prevents dry-rot and early decay of the string. Use a chamois cloth to wipe the wax onto the string.
