How to Build a Stand for a SeaDoo

Store and move your SeaDoo and other jet-skis using a wooden stand. A stand like this supports the watercraft by the bottom of the device. Two 50-inch carpeted supports keep the bottom from getting scratched and aid in moving the watercraft on and off of the stand. Fasten swivel wheels to the bottom of the stand to allow for easy movement from one area to another, making this type of stand convenient for storing in a garage.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay two 50-inch boards flat, parallel and 17 inches apart. Lay two 17-inch boards flat between the 50-inch boards at a right angle, and space them 43 inches apart. Set a 50-inch plywood sheet on top of the boards so the edges are flush, and screw the plywood to the boards using four screws for each board. This is the side to your SeaDoo stand. Repeat this step to build the other side.

    • 2

Position the sides upright on their 50-inch edges so the boards are between the plywood sheets. Space the sides so the outside surfaces of the plywood are 30 inches apart. Set a 30-inch sheet of plywood against the 24-inch edges of the sides so the edges are flush. Screw the plywood in this position using eight screws. Repeat this process on the opposite side using your last 30-inch sheet of plywood. This is your SeaDoo stand frame.

    • 3

Fold the carpet pieces over the 50-inch boards and plywood sides so the ends of the pieces are flush with the ends of the frame. Center each piece so there is 3 inches of carpet on each side. This is the top portion of your stand. Staple each carpet piece in this position, using one staple for every inch of carpet along the 50-inch edges.

Turn the frame over and screw the swivel wheels to the bottom of the frame, one in each corner, so they are flush with the sides and ends of the frame. Turn your SeaDoo stand upright on its wheels and set your SeaDoo on top of the carpet, so the SeaDoo is parallel with the 50-inch boards.
