How to Build a Hockey Stick Rack

Having a place to hold multiple hockey sticks is a useful solution to the problem of hockey sticks lying around near the other equipment. When hockey sticks are kept in a rack, it makes it especially easy for teams to know which stick belongs to which player quickly and with little confusion. You can build a hockey stick rack with just a few 2x4 boards and some plywood, and have construction done in less than 30 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Two 5-foot boards
  • Three 3-foot boards

Instructions

    • 1

Set your two 5-foot boards on the ground three feet apart. Rotate the boards so they are sitting on their 2-inch edge.

    • 2

Place two 3-foot boards on top of the 5-foot boards, one at each end of the 5-foot boards. Align the side of the 3-foot board with the end of the 5-foot boards before nailing two nails at each corner of the frame.

    • 3

Stand the frame up so the horizontal boards are the back of the frame. Hold a plywood piece with its 2-foot length running horizontally and the 1-foot length running vertically. Move the plywood to be flush along the bottom of the frame and along the back.

    • 4

Nail three to four nails through the plywood and into the frame to hold it in place. Add the second plywood piece to the frame on the other side the same way.

    • 5

Set your last remaining 3-foot board along the front of the plywood pieces on its 2-inch edge. Slip the board between the plywood pieces and bring it flush to the front of the plywood portion of the frame. Nail two nails through the plywood and into the board on both sides of the rack.
