How to Wire a Kill Switch on a Seadoo
Stand-up personal watercraft, like some Sea-Doo models, come equipped with several safety features such as non-slip pads on the decking and chin pads between and to the front of the handle bars. Another built-in safety feature is a lanyard-style kill switch. The lanyard, or rope, is merely tied to the driver's life jacket. If the driver slips from the Sea-Doo while it is still moving, she will pull the lanyard kill switch and it will disengage the engine immediately. This will prevent a driver-less Sea-Doo from injuring any innocent bystanders, boats or nearby docks. Replacing or installing a new kill switch takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour.
