TracRac Kayak Mount Instructions

Kayaking can be a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get a low-impact workout at the same time. One of the biggest challenges facing kayak enthusiasts is transporting their vessels. The TracRac Kayak Mount system adds four saddle bases to your existing TracRac sliding rail system to aid in the transport of your kayak. The sliding rails of the TracRac system enable it to be quickly installed, and easily adjusted to fit the needs of your kayak.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove one of the end caps from the front cross bar of the track base.

    • 2

Place four square nuts, flat sides facing up, into the top channel of the base. They should be placed approximately where you wish to mount your saddles. However they can be adjusted, so placement does not need to be exact.

    • 3

Determine the placement needed for the rubber bases: they can be placed at any interval according to your needs. Once placed, the rounded edges of each base should be pointing towards the outside of the crossbar.

    • 4

Bring one square nut in line with each of the mounting holes in the saddle bases.

    • 5

Place a washer on each of the hex bolts and insert each bolt into a square nut through a mounting hole. Use the wrench to tighten the bolts and secure the saddles in place.

    • 6

Replace the end cap once both of the saddles have been secured on the mounting bar.

    • 7

Repeat the steps to mount the back felt saddles to the rear bar.
