Components
-
The GT Lobo 1000 downhill mountain bike includes an array of components. Shimano, for example, provides top-end XTR shift lever and rear derailleur. The Lobo specifications pair Rock Shox disc brakes with Avid SD 2.0 levers. The Thompson seat post hold the SDG Big Boy downhill saddle aloft. An in-house GT machined-aluminum stem holds the Azonic Riser handlebar. White Industries front and rear disc hubs lace with Mavic D321 rims and wrapped in Michelin Wildgripper DH tires soaked up the big hits with strength and durability. The GT Lobo 1000 provides an excellent lightweight and strong platform for gravity-based mountain bike events.
Frame
-
The GT Lobo 1000 features 6061 T6 Aluminum construction for stiffness, durability and light weight. The frame design features solid gusseted construction and full-suspension technology. Both the front and rear wheels of the GT Lobo 1000 downhill mountain bike feature at least half a foot of suspended travel able to withstand large bumps and obstacles encountered while speeding down a mountain. One of the last aluminum downhill GT frames, the Lobo 1000 design fell to the wayside when GT began producing monocoque carbon fiber frames similar to the 2010 GT Fury.
Suspension
-
The GT Lobo 1000 bicycle includes a Rock Shox Boxxer fork and Deluxe Adjust Yank rear shock. The Boxxer fork provides 7 inches of front wheel travel, featured aluminum and magnesium construction and attached via a solid double attachment triple-clamp crown system. The Deluxe Adjust Yank rear shock attaches the independent front and rear frame triangles and features a coil over spring design that allows the rear wheel to travel up to 6 inches. Both suspension devices offer strong lightweight durability for downhill mountain bike riding and racing.
