How to Install a NY1 Trigger

The New York City Police Department orders Glock service pistols with a special 8-pound trigger pull. While the standard Glock trigger pull is approximately 3.5 pounds, NYPD studies have shown that a heavier pull reduces accidental discharges and makes for safer gun handling in the daily working environment. Civilian Glock owners may avail themselves of that same safety enhancement by installing an "NY1" trigger spring available from Glock. This aftermarket unit replaces the OEM spring and boosts the trigger pull to 8 pounds. Many users report that it makes trigger operation smoother as the weight of the trigger is more consistent over the length of the trigger pull. The NY1 trigger is a "drop in" unit that slips into the trigger spring mechanism after the OEM spring is removed.

Reinstall the trigger housing pin, the locking block pin and the trigger pin by pushing them back into place from right side of the receiver to the left using the small hand punch.

    • 15

Reinstall the barrel and recoil spring assembly into the slide. Remount the slide on the pistol.
