1
Seal the bowling ball's holes with tape to prevent cleaning solution from seeping into them.
-
2
Pour 1 tsp. of degreasing liquid soap into a 3 1/2-gallon bucket. Fill the bucket with 2 gallons of warm (not hot) water.
-
3
Submerge the bowling ball in the soapy water. Soak the ball in the solution for 15 minutes.
-
4
Drench a cotton cloth in the solution. Wipe the entire bowling ball with the wet cloth.
-
5
Refill the bucket with cold water. Submerge the bowling ball in the cold water, then wipe the ball's pearl coverstock finish with a fresh cloth to rinse off soap residue.
-
6
Repeat the entire procedure three times to thoroughly remove all oil from the bowling ball. Use fresh solution and cotton cloths each time.
-
7
Buff the bowling ball with a soft towel when finished cleaning. Remove the tape from the ball's holes.
