How to Use a Leatherwood Scope

Mount the Leatherwood scope to the top of your rifle or shotgun. The Leatherwood Red Dot series is made for use with shotguns. Leatherwood scopes fit on the scope mounts of firearms, and are secured with tightening dials.

Set a target at approximately 25 yards, and take a shot. Retrieve the target, noting the penetration point of the shot. If the shot hit higher than intended, turn the elevator dial clockwise; the dial is located on the top-center of the scope. If the shot hit lower than desired, turn the dial counterclockwise. Take another practice shot. Continue this adjustment cycle until you are satisfied with the shot placement.

Adjust the windage dial using the same criteria established for elevation. If your shot hits to the right of your intended location, turn the windage dial clockwise; the windage dial is located on the right-center side of the scope. If your shot hit to the left of your intended point , turn the dial counterclockwise. Take practice shots. and continue the adjustments until you are satisfied with the lateral axis of the scope.
