How to Break Down and Clean a PJK-9HP
Things You'll Need
- Gun-cleaning rod
- Gun-cleaning patches
- Gun-cleaning solvent
- Gun oil

Disassembly

Verify that the pistol is unloaded.

Push the magazine release button on the left side behind the trigger and remove the magazine.

Pull the slide back and lock in the open position.

Rotate the thumb safety all the way up into its disassembly notch on the slide.

Push the end of the slide-stop pin that protrudes from the right side of the pistol. Pull the slide stop out from the left side of the pistol.

Hold the slide to restrain its spring tension and rotate the thumb safety all the way down. Continue to hold the slide and let it move slowly all the way forward and off the end of the frame.

Turn the slide over. Push the head of the recoil spring guide forward to compress the spring slightly, then remove the guide and spring from the slide.

Lift the barrel by the barrel lug and remove it from the slide.
Cleaning

Use a 9 mm-pistol cleaning rod and gun-cleaning patches moistened with gun-cleaning solvent to swab the bore of the pistol. Clean the bore until a patch can be run through without showing any grime or discoloration.

Clean the slide with gun-cleaning patches moistened with cleaning solvent and wipe dry.

Clean dried powder residue from any other parts of the assembly with cleaning patches, a bristle brush and solvent. Wipe dry.

Coat all internal components lightly with gun oil.

Wipe down external metal surfaces with a cleaning patch slightly moistened with gun oil.

Clean the magazines occasionally using gun-cleaning solvent to remove bullet lubricants, oil and dirt.

Reassemble the PJK-9HP.
