Wum-1 Sling Installation

The WUM-1 Is a Romanian-designed rifle patterned after the Russian AK-47. Attaching a sling to the WUM-1 follows standard sling installation with one exception: the rear rifle sling attachment swivel is in the empty cavity on the butt end of the rifle instead of underneath the stock itself. Slings add carrying capacity and help stabilize the weapon while you are firing.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure safe rifle handling of the rifle; check whether it is unloaded and that the safety mechanisms are engaged.

    • 2

Run the WUM-1 sling down to the forward end of the rifle stock and locate the swivel stud under the stock. Slide the shoulder pad side of the sling's slit onto the stud and pull quickly down to set it into the slit.

    • 3

Clip the opposite end of the sling to the interior swivel mount in the cavity at the end of the stock. Make sure the sling attaches on your dominant-hand side of the rifle (if you are right-handed, make the sling come out on the right side; if lefty, on the left).

    • 4

Wrap your shoulder through the sling so the barrel points up, out and away from your body and head.
