MOLLE Ruck Instructions

The US Military produces the Modular Lightweight Load Carrying Equipment, better known as the MOLLE. The MOLLE Ruck is the foundation for the system. The Ruck is the ballistic nylon all of the modular packs and accessories mount to. The system is designed to be simple to use without hand tools, allowing field modification with no extra gear for the assembly. Use the Ruck to customize a MOLLE system for your needs. Instructions

    • 1

Don the MOLLE Ruck vest by putting it on like a jacket or button shirt. Bring the two sides of it toward your chest and connect the male to females ends on the quick clips, securing it to your body. Pull the side straps to tighten the Ruck to your body, taking care not to make it so tight breathing is an issue. Remove the Ruck.

    • 2

Thread MOLLE bags and accessories to the side straps or back straps on the Ruck vest. Larger bags and packs mount to the back of the vest for proper weight distribution. Thread the accessories through a minimum of one Ruck strap and clip the male to female ends together to secure them to the Ruck vest.

    • 3

Attach small medic bags or accessory bags to the sides of the Ruck symmetrically. If you place a small bag on the left, try to place another bag of the same size on the right. This keep the MOLLE balanced which is helpful during long hikes or hunts.

    • 4

Attach leg straps to the metal clips on the bottom of the vest for flight purposes. These harnesses allow the Ruck to strap into helicopter (Military) restraining straps as an added safety measure. Use the metal clips at the base of the Ruck with the harness straps.

Pass the waist strap through the bottom of the Ruck when fully outfitted. Connect the male to female ends of the clip on the waist strap when donning the fully laden Ruck MOLLE system.
