Top of the World Trail
-
The Top of the World Trail is a popular choice for off-roaders who are riding in Moab for the first time. The trail starts at the Dewey Bridge parking lot and follows a wide, rough road to a panoramic overlook on Waring Mesa, above Fisher Valley and Onion Creek. The trail has 32 miles of pavement at one end and 22 miles at the other, with 40 miles of off-road track in-between. The off-road trail has been graded to make the ride easier, but it mostly consists of layered rock. While making their way to the viewpoint, riders can enjoy scenery like exposed Entrada sandstone and several steep cliffs. After reaching the overlook, riders can complete a loop trail by connecting to the Rose Garden Hill Trail.
Moab Rim Trail
-
The Moab Rim Trail is one of the most challenging ATV trails in Moab due to its obstacles and rough terrain. The trail consists of seven off-highway miles that are accessible to ATVs. The first mile of the trail slants with the rock layers and has several rock obstacles like ledges and steps to challenge riders. The most challenging parts of the course include Devil's Crack, a rock ledge with a large crack where ATVs can get stuck, and a Z-turn with two sharp turns over broken bedrock. The upper section of the Moab Rim Trail consists of slickrock, blow sand and sandy dirt that are easier to navigate. Once you reach the top, you can opt to climb the 85-percent grade of a slickrock dome.
Hell's Revenge Trail
-
Hell's Revenge is a challenging trail, but one of the most popular Moab trails among ATV riders. The majority of the trail consists of slickrock, with some steep climbs that might intimidate novice ATV riders. The end of the trail boasts several challenging boulder fields. Although there are several intimidating features of the trail, there are many obstacles that riders can choose to attempt or avoid. Obstacles like Hell's Gate, Tip-over Challenge, the Escalator, Rubble Tubble and Potato Salad Hill might be best left for experienced riders to attempt. The trail is clearly marked with painted yellow markers so you avoid crossing onto the restricted Hell's Revenge Bike Trail. Riders can see views of Moab and the Colorado River from high points of the trail. The trail can be completed in two to four hours, depending on rider experience and ability.
