Located in Schuylkill County, Tower City is a borough that was once a coal mining town. The city has numerous trails for all-terrain vehicles. ATV riders can enjoy riding long, scenic trails within the borough and its surrounding areas. Local features in Schuylkill County include three state parks, the Appalachian Trail and various campgrounds suitable for making stops with your ATV.
Rausch Creek

Rausch Creek trail is 40 miles long and spans 13 square miles. The trail is managed by the Rausch Creek Trailriders, as of January 2011, and a fee is required for access. This year-round trail has a 800 to 1500 feet of elevation gain and features sights along the way such as thick forested areas, open fields, a motocross track and abandoned coal mines.
Maple Run Tract

Maple Run Tract is located at Pike County and is listed as one of Pennsylvania's ATV Trails on State Forest Lands. The trail runs eight miles long and is open during the summer season. Access is on Route 402, about two miles north of Pecks Pond Village. The trail has an elevation range of 1,300 to 1,500 feet and features scenic forest views and wildlife sightings.
Dixon R. Miller Recreation Area

Access the 13-mile Dixon R. Miller Recreation Area during summer and winter seasons and enjoy majestic views of the Pohopco Mountains along the way. With an elevation range of 1,800 to 2,200 feet, sights such as bogs, wetlands, plenty of plant life and wildlife surround the path. Gray birch, scrub oak and aspen trees fill the thick forested area of the region. The trail head is accessible from Route 115 five miles south of I-80.
