How to Find a Dive Buddy for School

Scuba diving brings you into a whole new realm. The underwater world is filled with thousands of different fish, mammal and plant species as well as coral formations that rival anything man has made on land. When you head to the undersea world it is always advisable to dive with a buddy. It is not always easy to find a dive buddy, especially if you are a newbie just getting certified through a dive school. There are resources online designed for nothing but connecting divers to other divers, including for dive buddy purposes.

Instructions

Compose a flyer to post at the dive school or business. Include your name, contact phone number and email, date of the course and when you need the buddy. Get permission from the school or business to post it on a bulletin board or listing area.

Use dedicated social networking sites for divers. Examples include the Scuba Meetup group and the DiveBuddy website. DiveBuddy is a social network designed exclusively for divers in their searches for like minded enthusiasts. Join the groups and post on the walls and bulletin boards stating your need for a dive buddy during your school and certification training.

Get to the first class a little early and introduce yourself to your classmates. Mention that you are looking for a dive buddy for the class and see if anyone else is in the same position. Ask someone you have a connection with to be the dive buddy during the course.
